Elder Taufa

This was kind of a crazy thing to do, I felt like I was sending my own child on a mission. After purchasing all of his mission stuff, and going through all the paper work, and stuff that you have to do before going into the MTC, it was quit the process, something I never thought I would be doing at the age of 31.... yikes.
From what I've heard about dropping missionaries off and how quick the process is, I thought it sounded a little brutal. It was actually was very smooth, and also much easier on the Missionaries.I thought that the departure, and saying all the good-byes would be VERY hard on Saula, but you could tell as soon as we hit Provo he was ready to go. It was such a good feeling to not see him sad. I think his parents were in serious shock because of how easy it was for him to say goodbye. Saula is a very tender hearted kid, and usually gets VERY VERY sad when ever he has to leave to go somewhere. It doesn't matter if he's leaving Hawaii to come here, or if he's leaving here to go back to Hawaii, there are usually alot of tears and persuading going on....
We new he was ready to go on his mission, and all though he's not going to far(Provo) it made it alot easier on all of us to see him so happy. He just left Wed., and we have heard from him twice. He loves it so far, and said it's better than anything he ever expected it to be. He keeps reassuring us that he's fine, and to not miss him because he's happy where he's at.
Because of his mission being in our area, every time he gets transferred will be like a new mission call for us, to see if he comes closer or farther away, so we are so excited to find out where his first area will be. I think the farthest area away from us on his mission is 4 hours:)....not to far. Anyway, we are so happy for Saula, and glad that he is happy. Here are some of the pictures from the MTC.

As soon as we left the MTC we headed to Emery for Freddy's basketball game, which made for a VERY long day.

Our trip to the Temple before he left.
